Health Care Administration

Mission Statement


The mission of the Health Care Administration program is to provide a high quality experiential-based education to prepare students to be highly competent, empowered, productive, and ethical health care leaders.

Students will learn core competencies in communications, knowledge and skills, and professionalism as necessary and appropriate to be highly successful and personally satisfied in a Health Care Administration career. Students will develop an awareness and appreciation of public, population, community, and individual health, and will strive to use their Health Care Administration education to serve and improve these important societal needs.

Components of the health care delivery system include hospitals, nursing homes, group medical practices, personal care homes, retirement centers, health maintenance organizations, medical sales, insurance, home health care, and other companies involved in providing medical services, supplies and equipment.

Degree Requirements

Area I - Foundation Skills - 3 hours

FSL 101 is required for new and transferring freshmen with less than 24 credit hours. Students must earn a "C" or higher in FSL 101.
