ENG 350 Visual Rhetoric

This course will introduce classical and modern rhetorical strategies that work to persuade and convince audiences. Beyond written argumentation, emphasis will be placed on semiotics, optic appeals, such as print and digital advertisements, as well as mass media commercials and embedded appeals. Students will deconstruct visuals and think critically concerning appeals being applied in samples, as well as the social schemas that make the communication success or failures.
