PSY 101 Introduction to Psychology

This is an introductory skill building class, not to be confused with PSY 201, General Psychology, the introductory knowledge building class. This course is required of all students who are Psychology majors in order to best prepare them to excel in the subsequent core and upper-level psychology courses in this program. The course will focus on skill-building as set forth by the standards of the American Psychological Association including (1) scientific inquiry and critical thinking, (2) ethical and social responsibility, (3) verbal and written communication skills, and (4) professional development. This course is required for all new and transferring psychology majors with less than 15 PSY credit hours.
