HIS 455 American Urbanization and Suburbanization

This course will examine the growth of the city in America from colonial times to the present. Students will examine concepts of urbanization that may include sprawl, gentrification, preservation, and shrinkage. Historic and current issues of density, public housing, transportation substantiation, the growth of the Sunbelt, and the rise of metropolis will be examined.
