AT 6030 General Medical Conditions
This course explores the physical, mental, environmental, and social health problems seen in the physically active individual and at-risk individuals, emphasizing the recognition of signs, symptoms, and predisposing conditions related to the specific illness or disease and its recommended treatment and referral. Students will learn how to evaluate common non-orthopedic medical conditions present in physically active patients and at-risk individuals across the lifespan. Included in this course students will complete a mini rotation collaborating with other health care providers in a local primary clinic. Lastly, students will implement disinfectant procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other federal regulations. This course is only available to admitted athletic training candidates. This course will expire after teach-out based on new 2022-2023 curriculum change, last expected offering Fall 2022.
