AT 6050 Contemporary Issues in Athletic Training
This course is designed as a culminating experience that presents an overview of the contemporary considerations necessary for students to understand in order to enter the field of athletic training. The main topics that will be discussed are evidence-based practice, protective equipment, psychosocial strategies and mental health, medical emergencies, cultural backgrounds, special populations, eating disorders, and performance-enhancing substances. This course will also discuss recent position and consensus statements related to athletic training. This course is only available to admitted athletic training candidates. This course will expire after teach-out based on new 2022-2023 curriculum change, last expected offering Spring 2023. Fee: $75.00.
