HON 140 From Atoms to Evolution
This course will be a comprehensive overview of the natural sciences from atoms to biomolecules to evolutionary theory. General areas covered will include the atomic theory, intramolecular forces, the discovery of DNA, heredity and natural selection. Students will also understand how general principles of biology and chemistry are incorporated into other scientific disciplines include physics, forensics, anthropology, and ethics. The social impact of science on society - literature, philosophy and popular culture - will be discussed. Three hours of lecture per week with one two hour lab per week. Fee: $75.00.
