BIO 416 Cell Biology
This course gives students a broad understanding of the factors involved in cell survival and reproduction. Topics include an in-depth view of the central dogma, the variety of cell membranes and their functions, signaling pathways used by cells, asexual and sexual reproduction of the cell, how the cell moves and participates in its environment, and the role of cells in larger body systems. The laboratory gives hands-on instruction about these topics and additionally provides students with experience using common techniques seen in a cellular biology laboratory. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. Fee: $75.00.
