CRJ 495 Law Enforcement Academy Internship

This course involves a full-time commitment to participate in a Tennessee law enforcement academic (e.g., Metropolitan Nashville Police Academy or Tennessee Highway Patrol). Students must have prior approval from the program director and school dean to participate, and the internship must be taken after all other degree requirements are met. Students admitted to the academy will engage in traditional internship experiences with the agency prior to the start of the academy. Admitted students must complete 600 hours of internship during the traditional semester, as well as academic assignments to earn a passing grade. Students will complete the remainder of the academy with the hosting agency, which typically last past the end of the semester. Satisfactory completion of the academy qualifies the student for employment with the agency.
