POLSC 111 Introduction to Political Science
This course serves as an introduction to the basic foundations of Government. It will cover three branches of government, along with an understanding of how the federal system functions in America. It will also establish the basics of local and state governments in the United States and will introduce students to the comparisons of different political systems in the world, how they work, and how successful they are. The class will include discussions about the development of political thought, with analysis of how that thought impacts the political world today. There will be a focus on how differing political systems compare to the United States and how those differences impact relationship between nations. This class will also start the process of developing an understanding with students of the importance of staying up to date with the impact of news on their everyday lives.
