Admissions Process for Freshmen

Thank you for your interest in Cumberland University! The following steps will guide you through the application process.

  1. Fill out the undergraduate application and return it to the Admissions Office, or submit your application online at www.cumberland.edu.
  2. Pay the $25 application fee. You may choose one of three options:

  3. Complete your personal statement. You may send it to admissions@cumberland.edu, your admissions representative's email, or by mail to the address above.
  4. Submit your official high school transcript and official ACT/SAT score(s) to the Admissions Office. If you have completed any college coursework please submit official transcripts from the university to the Admissions Office.
  5. Contact the Admissions Office or your admissions representative to schedule a campus visit.
  6. Visit the Student Financial Services Office for specific information regarding institutional scholarships. Information concerning scholarships can be found in the current University catalog, or at www.cumberland.edu. If applying for work-study or endowed scholarships submit the application which is available on our website, or in the Student Financial Services Office.
  7. Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov by January 31st of your senior year. Be sure to add Cumberland University's school code (003485) to your FAFSA.
  8. Once you have graduated send your final official transcript to the Admissions Office.
  9. All students are required to submit proof of immunization records.
