HIS 445 Comparative Empires

This course will examine the definitions of empire and how it was employed by different cultures to expand their material and political resources during the seventeenth through the nineteenth centuries. The class will compare the constructions and executions of empire by Britains, Russians, and Comanches both at the imperial and the local levels.
