Goals and Student Learning Outcomes

Goals

1.

To develop critical thinking, sound reasoning, and logical communication.

To enhance literacy in writing, reading, speaking, and listening.

To encourage mathematical organization and skills.

To foster respect and understanding of science and scientific inquiry.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate higher order critical thinking and sound reasoning skills.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to use sufficient and logical support in written communication.

  4. Ascertain and seek knowledge through reading.
  5. Demonstrate auditory and professional communication.
  6. Interpret mathematical formulas and graph as and draw inferences from them
  7. Represent mathematical information symbolically, visually and numerically.
  8. Use arithmetical, algebraic and geometric methods to solve problems.
  9. Articulate an understanding of the scientific method.
  10. Demonstrate knowledge of historical facts, themes and ideas.
  11. Articulate and evaluate historical interactions of societies in terms of multiple cultural viewpoints.
  12. Demonstrate an appreciation of their cultural heritage and how that has shaped their attitudes and opinions.
