SPE 5040 Advanced Educational Assessment of Exceptional Students

Examines the selection, use, and interpretation of research-validated procedures and diagnostic instruments and assessment techniques used in evaluating exceptional students. Referrals, assessment measures, observation anecdotes, formative and summative assessments, assessment results and summary recommendations are explored. The course emphasizes measuring reliable change, evaluating existing assessment procedures and data based decision making so that appropriate instructional strategies are implemented. Field experience is required.
