CRJ 455 Mobile Device Forensics

This course is designed to familiarize students with the procedures and the skill set necessary to be able to acquire, analyze and report the findings from handheld mobile devices. The students will utilize aspects of the scientific method as they setup and analyze the various forms of handheld devices in the lab exercises. The students will encounter an Apple iPhone, Blackberry and Android smart phones as well as a GPS device. The students will then be tasked based on the scenario presented to them to report the findings, within the parameters of the Mock Search Warrant and/or Consent to Search provided to them as part of their lab exercise. This course builds on the tools and techniques presented in the CRJ 312 Digital Forensics course.
