CIW 257 Writing Creative Nonfiction

This course offers an in-depth introduction to contemporary creative nonfiction through reading, writing, whole-class workshop, research, and discussions with focuses on memoir, essay, and experimental forms. Students will produce a substantial collection of creative nonfiction and academic work, which will be submitted via portfolio at the end of the semester. The course will stress elements of literary storytelling and audience targeting.
