Distance Learning Tutoring Session Information

Tutoring Session:
All distance learning tutoring sessions will take place on pre-approved platforms. Certain platforms will be required for tutoring sessions in specific subjects. For a detailed list, please see distance learning platform list below. Students in need of tutoring must share a list of topics and questions that they wish to discuss at least two hours before the session. This will allow the tutor to gauge the understanding of the student and create a plan of action for the tutoring session. If the student does not have specific questions, the tutor will use the topic given to the Office of Student Success when the session was requested. While the tutor will be permitted to guide and assist the student, no homework or quiz assistance will be given. Throughout the session, the tutor will be required to take notes on the topics discussed and the methods used to describe. These notes should not include any personal observations or information about the student or information about grades. At the conclusion of the tutoring session, students will be required to fill out a survey about their tutoring session. All notes taken by the tutor, must be turned in to the Office of Student Success at the conclusion of the session. Tutoring sessions will be limited to a maximum of 1.5 hours per session.

Additional Tutoring Sessions:

At the conclusion of the session, the student will have the option to schedule a follow up session with the same tutor. If further assistance is needed with another tutor, the student must schedule a new session with the Office of Student Success.
