MU 231 Advanced Music Theory I

The study of advanced material in music theory including mode mixture, Neapolitan and augmented sixth chords, and enharmonic modulation, as well as popular and jazz-influenced techniques such as extended tonicization, tertian extensions, and chord substitutions. This course is geared toward music majors and minors.
