CRJ 334 Social Programs and Crime Prevention
This interactive course will examine the sociological and criminological impact, effectivity and methodology of social programs designed to reduce crime, rehabilitate offenders and aid victims/survivors of crime in America and around the world. In addition to attending lectures and participating in class activities, we will seek to observe and engage with a variety of programs, charitable projects and organizations designed to provide social healing, restoration and practical assistance to people disaffected by crime. Topics covered may include study and observation of programs designed to aid people affected by a variety of crimes and social ills, such as domestic abuse, sexual assault, violence, addiction, homelessness, and trafficking.
