Mission Statement
The Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science (CS) program at Cumberland University empowers our graduates to become competitive contributors to the technology market with the knowledge and technical skills to solve difficult computer science problems creatively and professionally.
Application Requirements
Cumberland University makes no distinction in its admissions, policies, or procedures on grounds of age, sex, religion, race, national origin, or physical handicap. In addition to the general admission requirements for graduate students the following is required for students entering the computer science program.
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university in Computer Science, or a closely related field, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Students with less than a 2.5 GPA may complete two courses under provisional acceptance. If the student earns a grade of "B" or higher in both courses, he or she will earn final acceptance.
- Once accepted into the MSCS Program, the student must maintain good academic standing as prescribed by the Office of Academic Affairs to continue to register for courses.
- Prior coursework in programming, databases, and networking.
- Resume and personal statement that address the applicant's level of experience in programming, networking, and databases.
Degree Requirements
MSCS Requirements - 30 hours
MSCS Electives - 5 hours
Choose six credit hours of additional CS or ITM courses OR Computer Science Field Experiences.
