NUR 377 Adult Health/Pathophysiology Nursing for LPN to BSN

This course is designed for the Licensed Practical Nurse pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The course reinforces the knowledge and skills learned in Foundations and Health Assessment, introducing the student to basic adult health nursing concepts. The pathophysiology of adult disease processes, nursing interventions, pharmacology, nutrition, gerontology, and culture are integrated throughout the course. Critical thinking and decision-making using the nursing process is emphasized. The student learns to apply fundamental competencies and basic knowledge of clinical data, pharmacologic concepts, and assessment findings required to holistically care for clients with medical alterations. Emphasis will be placed on clinical reasoning as it relates to prioritizing safe patient care. The course is taught online, in the laboratory with simulation, and in clinical area. (90 hours clinical/lab/semester) Fees: $760 testing fee and $125 laboratory fee.
