Guaranteed Nursing Admission

Guaranteed Nursing Admission (GNA) to the RSONHP (Cumberland University Rudy School of Nursing & Health Professions) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is available to first-time, full-time freshmen with an ACT composite or super score of 25 or above AND a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. Students may apply during their senior year of high school or the first two semesters at CU. Transfer students are NOT eligible for a GNA.

Prior to completing the GNA application, students must first apply for admission to CU and submit their ACT scores.

Applications for GNA are due March 1 for CU fall admission and October 1 for CU spring admission each academic year. Applications will be accepted at any time during the student’s first two semesters.

If a student is awarded a GNA, he/she must maintain the following to be granted guaranteed admission to the RSONHP BSN program*:
● Maintain a 3.0 overall GPA while enrolled in the pre-nursing GEC courses.
● Obtain a grade of “B” or above in the following courses: Chem 103, BIO 213 & 214, Math 111 or 110. Course repeats will be eligible for GNA.
● Maintain full-time status
*All general education courses (GEC) and nursing pre-requisite courses must be completed prior to entering the BSN program. GNA recipients must also submit a School of Nursing application and ATI entrance exam scores by the candidacy deadline.

If the GNA student is not able to enroll in the BSN program after completion of five full-time semesters of college, the student will forfeit their GNA status but may still apply to the RSONHP BSN program and become part of the regular applicant pool.
