ENG 317 American Romanticism

This course covers the major writers and movements in American literature during the eras known as Romanticism and Transcendentalism, approximately 1820-1865. We will focus mainly on the Nineteenth Century with particular emphasis on the American Renaissance, to ultimately develop a knowledge about literary works and an appreciation for their value in the creation of American society.
