ENG 327 Restoration and 18th Century British Literature

This course focuses on the second half of the 17th century and the 18th century in British literature and culture. Special attention will be paid to ideas of wit, taste, and beauty and we will examine areas such as the development of the novel, the influence of print newspapers, and the rise of the middle class.
