This course addresses substance use and abuse from the perspective of the clinician, including but not limited to models of addiction, etiology, and maintenance of addiction, physiological and medical aspects of substance use, cultural considerations, evidence-based and empirically supported treatment approaches to addiction, and connections between substance use and crime.
